The rebar tensile test shows whether reinforcing steel used in reinforced concrete meets the grade requirements of TS 708 (e.g. B420C, B500C). The bar is tested in full cross-section with its ribbed surface intact.
The test is performed with a method accredited by TÜRKAK under TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 (EN ISO 15630-1 cl. 5, TS 708); results are issued as an accredited test report. Tests are run on computer-controlled universal testing machines with 600 kN and 100 kN capacity.
Determined Values
- Yield strength (ReH / Rp0.2)
- Tensile strength (Rm)
- Rm / Re ratio
- Total elongation at maximum force (Agt)
- Elongation after fracture (A5)
Applied Standards
- EN ISO 15630-1 – Steel for the reinforcement of concrete, test methods: reinforcing bars, rods and wire
- TS 708 – Steel for the reinforcement of concrete
Related Tests
Bend and rebend tests and rib geometry measurement can be performed on the same batch (EN ISO 15630-1).
