The bolt tensile test verifies whether the fastener material meets its property class (e.g. 8.8, 10.9, 12.9). A tensile test piece of standard geometry is machined from the bolt and pulled to fracture at a controlled rate.
The test is performed with a method accredited by TÜRKAK under TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 (specimen preparation EN ISO 898-1, test EN ISO 6892-1); results are issued as an accredited test report. Tests are run on computer-controlled universal testing machines with 600 kN and 100 kN capacity.
Determined Values
- Yield strength (ReL / Rp0.2)
- Tensile strength (Rm)
- Elongation after fracture (A)
- Reduction of area (Z)
- Stress–strain curve
Applied Standards
- EN ISO 898-1 – Mechanical properties of fasteners: bolts, screws and studs (specimen preparation)
- EN ISO 6892-1 – Metallic materials, tensile testing at room temperature
Product Tests
Product tests such as full-size bolt tensile, proof load and wedge loading are assessed on request and stated separately in the quotation.
