Radiography thanks to the penetration and absorption properties of X and GAMMA rays; It is used for the detection of volumetric and surface defects expected in castings, forged parts, metallic and non-metallic materials.

High energy electromagnetic waves (radiation) penetrate various materials. The radiation that penetrates the material affects the radiation-sensitive films placed opposite the side of the material in question. These films, which are then subjected to the bath process, show the voids in the material passing through the radiation, material thickness and density. This type of imaging method is called radiography. The only limitation in radiography is the material thickness. It can be applied to all kinds of materials except thickness limitation.

Radiation sources for Radiographic Examination can be X-ray tubes or Gamma ray generating isotopes.

In order to obtain healthy and reliable results from the radiographic examination, the standards prepared according to the type and / or type of the material, the application standards prepared according to the examination and acceptance levels must be followed.
